The Lantern Project
With over 4,000 students enrolled at the school, it operates on a three-shift system to accommodate everyone. This means students attending evening classes face significantly poorer educational environments—classrooms that are too dark not only hinder effective learning but also pose serious safety risks during their commute home, especially in the absence of adequate lighting.
To address this pressing issue, we installed streetlights throughout the school grounds, creating a safer and more suitable environment for nighttime classes and travel. These solar-powered LED streetlights now illuminate key pathways, entrances, and outdoor study areas, reducing accident risks and enabling students to focus better on their studies without the distraction or danger of darkness. This simple yet impactful intervention has already received positive feedback from teachers and students, demonstrating how targeted infrastructure improvements can enhance both safety and educational equity in resource-constrained settings.
