We Can Academy

During the in-person meeting of We Can Academy, YEV volunteers shared their talents with mentees to foster new passions and strengthen cultural understanding. We held a Korea Camp with Korean heritage classes spanning topics like percussion and traditional masked dance. We shared quality time with Mozambican students of various grade levels, establishing a rapport for future connections.

Our program seeks to offer support beyond curriculum resources or academic infrastructure. Moving forward, we aim to connect with mentees on a regular basis through Zoom meetings, not allowing physical distance to affect our bond.

YEV volunteers partner with students in Mozambique to offer customized, holistic mentoring. Volunteer mentors guide their mentees in academics, extracurricular interests, cultural exchange, and overall life advice.

The overall goal of We Can Academy is to foster inner motivation for Mozambican students, giving them the confidence and support they need to pursue future career interests and become global leaders.
